Raleigh-Durham Startup Week (RDSW) is a three-day event held from April 18th - April 20th this year. Focused on building connections, learning, and growing the local startup community, RDSW is not an event you want to miss! From having involvement in the planning of RDSW like Director of the NC State Entrepreneurial Clinic Haley Huie to speaking at the event, many of our Founded members and partners are a large part of this year's RDSW!

We compiled a list here with the information you need to come out and support our Founded community.

Tuesday - April 18th

Jesse Jones / Term Sheet Essentials / 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM / AU Training Room

Jesse is the Founder and Lead Attorney of Fourscore Business Law. He will be speaking about what does and doesn’t belong in a Term Sheet.

DeShawn Brown / Pain Point to Scalable Concept / 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM / AU Bullpen

DeShawn Brown is a Founded member and the founder of Coworks. He will join Rachel Classi to discuss the early stages of venture growth through exploring products and concepts across several industries.

Josh Guter / How to Launch and Learn From Your MVP / 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM / AU Bullpen

Founded member and program manager of NC State’s Entrepreneurship Clinic, Josh Guter, joins Tom Collopy to guide the audience through customer insight techniques. By providing the audience with strategies and tools, founders will be led in building and improving an MVP.

Jess Porta / Fireside Chat with Tim Dorr of Techstars / 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM / AU Bullpen

Founded member and Director of Operations at Green Places, Jess Porta, will be in discussion with serial entrepreneur Tim Dorr. They will explore life lessons and tips from the Atlanta ecosystem and will share the impact of participating in an Accelerator program.

Wednesday - April 19th

William McGuire and Lauren Romer / How to understand and prepare for early investment funding / 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM / AU Bullpen

Raleigh Founded Director Lauren Romer joins member William McGuire, founder and CEO of Incolo, on a panel of several other experts to discuss early investment funding. The panel will explore the merits and risks of venture capital, crowdfunding, seed/angel investing and more.

Venus Liles / Trademark and Brand Protection / 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM / AU Training Room

Venus Liles of Liles Law will aid founders in understanding how to protect their brand from the very beginning. Topics covered will include what an entity search does and does not uncover, the benefits of trademark registration, and the difference between ™️ and ®️.

Osahon Ojeaga / Fireside Chat with Osahon Ojeaga / 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM / AU Bullpen

Join member Osahon Ojeaga, CEO and founder of AJA Labs, for a discussion about the lessons she learned while launching AJA Labs. Moderated by Mark Saad.

Catherine Reed / Evening Event / 7:00 - 9:00 PM / Full Frame Theater (Blackwell St, Duhram NC)

Join Founded partner and Director of Field & Campaign Strategy at Right to Start, Catherine Reed, as she sits on a panel with two North Carolina Senators to discuss expanding entrepreneurship across the state. Right to Start is a nonprofit dedicated to making the entrepreneurial path available to everyone, regardless of background, race, or location. This event has a $10 entrance fee. Register here.

Sarah Glova, Brandon Kashani, and Jes Lipson / Founder Failures: Moving from Early Traction to High-growth / 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM / Raleigh Founded - Warehouse Location (E-Clinic)

Join Raleigh Founded co-founder Jes Lipson, and members Brandon Kashani (Founder & CEO of TRAKID) and Sarah Glova (CEO of Reify Media and writer at WRAL TechWire) as they discuss lessons learned on their start-up journeys. The panel will celebrate the wins and failures that come with being a founder with advice, stories, and an audience Q&A.
